School Bonds Refunded and Major Curtis Off For Washington

The school board met last night and accepted bids to refund $15,000 of 5 percent bonds with 4 percent 10 year optional bonds. First National Bank of Chicago offered the best bid with a $300 premium. Additional $7,000 was sold to the same firm on the same deal, as both issues are refundable at any time. The board praised the arrangement amid a buoyant money market.

Fast trains between Chicago and Omaha to be withdrawn

General managers of Rock Island, Burlington, Northwestern and Milwaukee and St. Paul meet in Chicago and agree to withdraw the twelve hour Chicago Omaha trains. The Rock Island will remove No. 23, replace with No. 18, and restore the old schedule with No. 21 extended to Des Moines. Northwestern will revert the Overland Flyer to the old time, Burlington keeps its schedule, and no other changes are expected.
