Judge Smith arrived in the city last evening for business this morning. Judge Thor nes returned to Council Bluffs on the early train to attend court there. The divorce case Mangles vs Mangles was settled yesterday with Mrs Mangles permitted to resume her maiden name. Rod Littlefield of Lewis had his case dismissed by the grand jury and he was freed. The Pratt administrator case ended with judge instructions at 6 30 p m. Plaintiffs seek 50 000 from Rock Island railroad for W H Stone’s death at Anita March 10 1894, the jury’s verdict later 5 000 to the plaintiff plus 20 for wagon wreck. Jury was 11 to 1 for plaintiff on first ballot. defendants to appeal to the supreme court.
