Woodman of the World installs officers for term

The Woodman of the World held a meeting last evening in which officers for the coming term were installed led by Howard Williams as installing officer. New officers include C. C. J. & Glass Adviser O. Wilkins Clerk C. S. Richmond Banker Fred Bishop Eschart John Minor Watchman J. A. Moreland and J. K. Haverle. The clerk’s annual report notes attendance above 63 percent and membership gains around 50 percent.

J H C Club Meet at Miss Josie Mead Home

The J H C Club enjoyed an evening at Miss Josie Mead's home with a world tour theme arranged by the ladies. Participants shared lighthearted banter, playful travel anecdotes, and a casual program that emphasized ease and fellowship during the gathering in Atlantic.

Uniforms for sale by Atlantic City Band in Atlantic Iowa

The Atlantic City Band has grown to thirty members and offers fourteen uniforms coat cap and pants in good condition for 8.75 dollars each when new. Special Iowa Legislature Train Des Moines to Omaha Tomorrow

A special GC R L P Ry train departs Des Moines tomorrow morning carrying Iowa legislature members. It leaves at 8 4 m and arrives in Omaha at 11 m after a three hour run. Return service will be second No 6 leaving Omaha at five in the evening.

Interest to Tax Payers on 1897 Lands and Receipts

Taxpayers wishing to pay the first part of their 1897 tax should mail a card or letter with their order and land description to the County Treasurer at once. Lulu Harlan Hosts Afternoon Party and Prize Works

Yesterday Miss Lulu Harlan entertained her ladies at Maple street. Guests competed in button hole work for a silver paper knife awarded to Miss Ludwick of Grinnell. Refreshments were served. Edith Gillespie Grace Childs Tede Langdon and N. Moore helped ensure none were slighted. Later on South Laurel street boys on a bobsled caused an accident with a lumber wagon injuring Willie Gaffes. Mr Day struck the wagon causing the driver to fall. Willie was taken home by Emmett Pratt and is recovering.
