From Wednesdays Daily southwestern Iowa won the grand championship sweepstakes oat for the entire state at the corn show held in Des Moines. Ludwig of Kesex won the grand champion spring wheat. The judges say the sample is perhaps the finest ever shown in Iowa. This marks the first time spring wheat has won Iowa’s grand championship. The winner, an independent binder named Bengaton Wing, is from Page County between Red Oak and Shenandoah.
