Atlantic society updates feature visits by Wilken and H Finkbine, D W Scott of Griswold, and others. Local business ads for jewelry and pianos mix with eroding street work, civic meetings, lectures, and upcoming suffrage convention notices.
City fathers met for nearly four hours ending at 11 pm with the mayor and council members present. Minutes and officers reports were read and approved. New officers were sworn in and bonds for city clerk marshal assessor assistant deputy marshal were examined and accepted. Firemen's by-laws were presented for approval and referred to the ordinance committee.
Mrs H G Cotton of Lewis and Rey Votan of Anita arrived in the city while Judge Green passed through town. Mrs Sam Holiman and sons visited Elixir this afternoon as the city council completed its equilization duties. IL Finkbine and wife returned from Des Moines, Miss V Williams departed for Omaha, Byron Forshay returned to Anita, and Frank Bebee with Link Eaton of Wiota were Atlantic callers yesterday.
A partial obituary style sketch of Mr. BR T Caldwell, book-keeper at the First National Bank of Fulton Ey, noting his frail health, nerve troubles, sleeplessness, and long hours as causes of his decline. The fragmented reminiscence hints at a personal health struggle and weary routine.
A stere opticon program at the Congregational church entertained a sizable audience. Allen M. Potter displayed views from ancient Rome Civil War scenes and Bible pictures while Rev E S Hill spoke. The event blended art lessons with songs by Mae Scarr and Mrs W J Fiedley. Finances were a success and thanks were offered to helpers.

Notice announces the appointment and qualification of Janes G Whitney as executor of the last will and testament of Franklin H Whitney of Cass County Iowa. Dated Atlantic Iowa March 97 87. Also includes old advertisements for Karl's Clover Root Tea and various remedies with sales contacts Vic Emmert M J Davis & Son Lewis Iowa.
