Southwestern Town Firemen's Association hosts July 3 4 in Atlantic with teams from Red Oak Villisca Osceola Shenandoah Clarinda Malvern and a Council Bluffs exhibition. Local committee led by Roy Hedges aims to attract thousands for parades floral contests $1500 in prizes and a $1000 fireworks display.

Petersen Farm Couple Reside East Of Town After Wedding
A successful farmer and his brother have run the family farm for years while welcoming many friends who celebrate a marriage. The couple will live on the farm one mile east of town. Elk Horn hosted the Atlantic Sociability Run with about sixteen decorated autos escorting the party two miles south to the college where a band played. Mayor Harold Johnson gave the welcome, with Atlantic representatives H Rattenberg J A McWard and C F Chase speaking. The event continued as the group traveled to Kimballton with Elk Horn boosters accompanying them.
