George B Chapman and his 36 year old wife welcomed triplets yesterday, two girls and a boy, increasing their total children to twenty. He, a 46 year old truck driver, says the family is astounded and all are doing fine. The couple already has an older son and daughter and many half siblings.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pitsenberger of Maine announce the engagement of their daughter Helen to Gail N. Hansen son of Chris J. Hansen of Long Beach California. The wedding will be in Ontario California on June 18. Miss Pitsenberger taught kindergarten in Ontario this year and Mr Hansen works in Riverside California.
A dense schedule lists Group 1 Women’s Council at 8 p.m. at Mrs. Vic Foster’s home, Hawkeye Encampment Auxiliary elections at IOOF hall, Violet Chapter at 7 p.m. with Mrs. Asa Jones, WSCS dessert and Hawaii pledge, and executive board at 1:30. Also notes D A R picnic at Griswold, and various officer elections and social events including a county homemakers box social benefiting state scholarships and a blood donor call.
Margaret Jean Roberts daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Roberts of Muscatine and formerly Atlantic will give a recital at the Baptist church Saturday evening at 8 oclock. Sponsored by Chapter AF of the Atlantic PEO she is an aspiring singer who has performed with the St Louis Civic Opera and auditioned for the Metropolitan Opera. She will be accompanied by Mrs Max Bullock and will visit the Hopley sale with her parents.
Elliott Sunday school met Tuesday with Mrs P H Weidman assisted by Mrs Ida West. The Loyal class met with Mrs Harry Clark. WSCS annual guest day was held at the Methodist parlor with Mrs Zoe Amick of Henderson giving a book review. The G G G Club of Marne hosted June 1 with Mrs Henry Christiansen and guests.
Elk Horn resident Juanita Albertson and Waterloo's Karma Henneberg attended a Thursday Sew-a-Bit club meeting hosted by Mrs. Leonard Bailey. Guest Mrs. Byron Harris helped raise funds through a White Elephant sale. Prizes went to Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Ted Hansen. A family picnic is planned for June 26 at Phil Parkinson's home. the July 7 meeting location will be announced.
The Wieta Club 8 0 8 0 club met May 31 at the Kermit Bailey home with eight members present. Mrs Arnold Hansen was a guest. Mrs Leonard received the door prize and the contest conducted by Mrs Albert Eilis was won by Mrs Earl Heath. Mrs Lynn Buckner will be hostess to the club June 9.
At the Holy Cross Lutheran church in Anita the Walther League held a business session with Averell Karstens reporting on the Iowa West district convention at Lake Okoboji. The Gleaners class also participated in the Elliott Church Groups segment.
