Miss Vesta Tharp of Ottumwa Ia writes for the American Magazine. Her June sketch Drafted centers on a small boy and his dog with playmates and soldiers. The story aims to be strictly American with human interest and reflects Tharp’s regular talent in short fiction. She has visited Atlantic at Dr. C E Thompson’s home and may return this summer.
Ja Jung Audubon announces a change in ownership as Bivanis Marquesen sells his interest to William J. Kness, a former employee. The business is now owned by J. J. Ruka and Kness with Marquesen as former shelf owner. Kness, living in Manning, will immediately return to Audubon to take an active role in management.
