F B Nichols father of Lee K Nichols of Anita died at his son’s home Tuesday evening from anemia after a yearlong illness. Born June 21, 1842 in Kings County Nova Scotia he married Helen Myers in 1867. Survived by wife three children G T Nichols of Lewis G E Nichols of Murray Town and L E Nichols of Anita. Funeral at Anita at two o'clock conducted by Rev Thomas with burial in Evergreen cemetery.

A Christmas night dance was held at the Harper restaurant in Massena Indiana in honor of the veterans returning from service. Local officers and residents attended, celebrating the homecoming with music and festivities.
