McCarty Quickly Stops Flynn in Sixteenth Round

Luther McCarty of Nebraska defeats Jim Flynn of Colorado in Vernon to win the heavyweight elimination bout. Flynn weighed 190 pounds, McCarty 205. McCarty dominates from start to finish, landing a decisive right in the tenth and finishing after Flynn falls twice in the sixteenth before referee Eyton ends the bout.

Chicago Man Abducted In Butter Company Robbery

Chicago cashier Mr Wright of a butter company was abducted by men posing as a drunken passenger. He was tied blindfolded and driven to a deserted street, then released after tossing a satchel containing about $28,000 behind a telegraph pole. Police recovered the satchel just as Wright alerted his office.

Fail to Free Prisoner Gunmen Intercept Marshals in Memphis

Memphis reports detail a bandit raid where Frank Holloway and accomplices planned to intercept U S marshals en route from Savannah to Omaha with Diggs Nolen. A squad arrested Holloway Brantley Mitchell John McCoy and Mrs John McCoy at the McCoy residence, derailing the plot.

Mrs Rustin Wins Her Suit Over Insurance

The Kentucky court of appeals ruled that Dr. Frederick Rustin of Omaha was murdered, not dies by his own actions, and ordered accident insurance policies he held to pay. With interest, the payout totals about $33,000 to Rustin’s widow. The case stemmed from a disputed death pact with an Omaha woman.
