A team of horses owned by F. Martin of Bridgewater won the pulling contest in the 2400 to 3200 pound class at the Iowa State fair. They drew 8200 pounds for 19 feet, about 21 tons on wheels. W Davison of Clarinda took second with 3200 pounds for 5 feet 4 inches. Earl Fritz of Fontanelle placed third with 3000 pounds for 24 feet 6 inches.
