Atlantic Community Sends Off 1908 With Fund Drive
The last issue of the year notes readers’ best wishes for a happy 1908. J A McWaid and J B Jones organized a $500 subscription drive to pay Knitting Factory rent and power for a year. Nearly all subscribers paid cheerfully, with McWaid even adding extra funds. The effort is cited as evidence of Atlantic’s progressive revival and a key asset for 1909.
