Sept 3 The Crackers opened their final home series of the year against the Billikens before a weekday crowd. Tommy Long sat out with illness and Waldron moved to right field with Kircher to left. Thompson and Tyree teamed as Crackers battery while Day and G Baker did for the visitors. In the first inning Jantzen doubled, Holland and Waldrop produced a run on a onetimer, and Bisland drove in a run as Jennings hit into a double play. No score after two frames as Waldron drew a walk and Donahue reached on four wide pitches. Waldron advanced but was forced at first on a line drive, while the Billikens missed opportunities on small plays.
