The Interstate Commerce Commission ruled that rates over the Atlanta Birmingham and Atlantic Railroad are unjustly discriminatory against Douglas and unduly favorable to Fitzgerald and other Southern Georgia cities. The mayor of Douglas filed the complaint alleging higher freight rates from outside Georgia to Douglas than to Fitzgerald Valdosta Quitman Thomasville Moultrie Tifton and Waycross.
Representative Frank Park of the Second Georgia District took the oath of office in the House today. He succeeds the late Representative Roddenberg.

He is a prominent local figure. his former partner is the son of the city’s wealthiest man.
Spartanburg South Carolina November 20 The Grand Jury in session here this afternoon recommended the prosecution of those implicated in dynamiting the jail on the night of August 8 while a mob was attempting to get Wil Fair a Negro prisoner The Grand Jury specifically asked the prosecution of W R Belcher Jess Wolfe Bob Wilson and Robert Ward for the dynamiting.

SPARTANBURG South Carolina R C White a former city police officer was jailed on assault charges after a quarrel over cotton led to Sharp Kennedy of Rolling Springs being struck in the face, breaking his jawbone. White was released on bail at Police Court pending Kennedy’s injury outcome.
