Twin sons of Mr and Mrs R E Law face a court battle with the orphanage over custody and sight of the children. The parents sue for 25000 dollars alleging they were denied access to the youngsters in a dispute likely to reach the courts soon.

Birmingham plans a systematic campaign to raise about one million dollars to secure a Methodist university. After a meeting of bankers and business leaders, committees will seek subscriptions and donations to bring the institution to Alabama with extensive support efforts.
The Mercury was expected to reach 95 degrees Tuesday afternoon according to Government Weather Bureau indications. Temperatures rose from 78 at 7 am to 88 at 11 am and 92 by 2 pm. Fair weather with little chance of rain is forecast for Tuesday night and Wednesday per Director Von Herrmann.
Washington June 23 In a historic move the Senate recognized Confederate veterans alongside Union veterans. A resolution by Senator Hoke Smith Georgia extends eligibility for fourth class postmasterships to all Civil War veterans regardless of age.
One man died and many were injured when earth and rocks collapsed into a Fourth Avenue subway excavation in Brooklyn. Authorities initially feared a larger death toll due to police report errors and counted 32 workers buried in the debris.
A mad dog rampaged on Fifth Street in Gadsden Alabama biting several dogs before escaping the scene as police arrived. The prior day resident W E Nunn killed a mad dog with a walking stick highlighting local canine dangers.

Caretaker Holcombes suspected four men loitering around the State Capitol grounds and corridors. Policemen Barfield and Haslett arrested Marion Laxton 32, G W Robinson 21, Charlie Parks 22, and F S Mimms 40, all aged, outside the building on loitering charges. They claimed the group were strangers to each other and had not entered the Capitol.
The North German Lloyd liner Koenigin Luise from Bremen collided with the Cobra off Hamburg. The Koenigin Luise sprang a bow breach and passengers were taken off as the ship began taking water. The Cobra was badly damaged amidships both above and below the waterline.
