Peachtree Road farmer Stoddard planted an acre in onions seven miles from Five Points and harvested 199 bushels at 2.75 a bushel. Cultivation cost totaled 13 dollars, yielding a gross profit of 242 dollars. The story notes rain forecasts and other local items from the Fulton area.
Nick Wilburn, convicted of James King’s murder at Round Oak Georgia, lost his bid for clemency as the Prison Commission and Governor kept the death sentence. He claimed Mrs. King pressured him into the crime while she was acquitted on separate charges. Wilburn faces execution on June 19 after appeals.

He used an assumed name until his Gulfport arrest on a minor charge and confessed his true identity as Tom Busbee.
