All Fulton County commissioners publicly endorse a Grand Jury inquiry into graft mismanagement and county affairs alleged in public reports. They urge a thorough investigation to restore trust and clear suspicions among taxpayers and residents.
In Savannah on June 2 a diamond anklet's role emerges in a divorce case. A prominent woman sent the anklet to a jeweler for repair, the husband delivered it via his chauffeur, and an inquiry revealed several clubmen contributed $100 each to fund its purchase. The revelation preceded a separation.
Judge Lovett of Union Pacific and several railroad officials urged against proposed trust legislation affecting railroads and common carriers before the Senate Interstate Commerce Committee. Also speaking were Interstate Commerce Commissioner Clements and Southern Railway General Counsel A P Thom.
In Trenton on June 2 Judge John Reelstab handed down a decree dissolving the Thread Trust. The ruling targets the American Thread Company and affiliated concerns after months of government effort to break up the alleged monopoly.
Postmaster Jones announced on Tuesday he will travel to Washington in about ten days to press Congress for a one million dollar appropriation for a new Atlanta post office building. The bill seeking funds was introduced in the House by Congressman Howard several months ago. He believes an active campaign can secure the money.
Paris reports two new dances gaining favor the "Fado-Fado" and the "Very Pickle". The horn pipe style of the "Fado-Fado" features a back-to-back stance with close feet and a complex shuffle while the "Very Pickle" involves a gallop on the toes, high kicks, and pirouettes.
Socialists of Atlanta hold an open air meeting on Wednesday night on the lawn in front of the Temple of Labor to support Fulton Bag and Cotton Mills strikers. Charles A. Miles of Socialists of New York and Al Schwartz will address the gathering.
Early crowds of downtown workers were delayed Tuesday when an East Point streetcar derailed at Whitehall and McDaniel streets. The car ran over the asphalt pavement for half the block, causing fright to passengers but no injuries were reported.
Postoffice receipts for May rose by 7461.53 to 118,541.11 from 111,079.58 in May of the previous year. The increase is reported in a statement returned to Postmaster Jones on Tuesday.

Tarrytown residents threaten to tar any agitators who come here to protest the Rockefellers.
