In Albany Georgia on February 18 Eppie Young a Black man working to blast holes for pecan tree planting on G P Youngs farm one mile south of Baconton tossed a wrench into a box of dynamite containing 30 or 40 sticks. The box exploded hurling his body about 50 feet. Only a fragment of his body was found as the blast shattered windows in Baconton and caused widespread excitement.

R B Melcher 58 a noted writer of children's stories poems and fiction died this morning at 14 00 after a short illness. The House approved the pension appropriation bill carrying about 181.5 million dollars after a recommit vote of 154 in favor and 112 opposed. By striking a nonresident pension prohibition, roughly 1 million dollars was added to the bill as reported from the committee.
