In Columbia South Carolina on December 27 the Tillman children Douschka and Sarah Stark were placed with their father B R Tillman Jr under a state supreme court order. Their mother Mrs Lucy Dugas did not surrender them and stayed at Edgewood near Edgefield. The transfer occurred in Edgefield with a nurse and friend present as Tillman drove toward Trenton followed by his brother and attorney H C Tillman. a crowd witnessed the scene.
A Texas originated storm drifted across the country and lingered near Atlantic City this morning. Atlas City station director Von Herrmann expects clear, cool weather for Atlanta for several days as the storm passes, while wind and minor street damage occur downtown including shattered glass at the National Bank transom and a broken window at the McClure store.

Nineteen head of mules sold at the courthouse door under court order. The Farmers Bank of Jackson Ga attached to the sale bought ten males for 1355 dollars, Gus Newson purchased eight for 985 dollars, and J B Meek took one for 150 dollars. The sale concluded with an average price of 131 dollars per head at Hunters and Pryor streets.
John Geiser McHenry, Democratic congressman from Pennsylvania's Sixteenth District, died at his home in Benton today from a general breakdown at age 46.

The Atlanta Chamber of Commerce smoke abatement committee will report results at a Monday meeting after noon. The committee spearheaded the effort and supported the required ordinance. City officials will present the current status, noting 34 Atlanta establishments have complied, mostly manufacturers.

Fourteen year old Norena White fled burning clothing from a grate at 256 Highland Avenue with her mother Mrs J H White in pursuit. Mrs White smothered the flames with quilts but suffered blistered hands. The girl was hospitalized in critical condition at Grady Hospital. The father, J H White, is a foreman at American Can Company.
Senator Gore of Oklahoma responds to William J Bryan's call to end seniority in Senate committees. He says peace progress and efficiency in Congress are essential for the nations advancement and that Democrats will pursue a progressive path. He notes Wilson supporters may back Bryan's idea.
Harry A. Glaser sues Lula Smith Glaser for divorce claiming Christmas night intoxication led to quarrel. He says she returned home drunk, drew a knife, and struck him with a mantel clock after he remonstrated. The couple married July 12, 1912. Mamie Carr seeks separation from Joseph Carr alleging drunken abuse on Christmas Eve and day after he broke a pledge not to drink.
