Fifteen people were seriously injured when three cars of the Central of Georgia Seminole Limited derailed seven miles north of Americus as it carried Christmas homegoers from Jacksonville toward Georgia and Alabama. Relief trains rushed to the scene, the track was blocked for hours, and no fatalities were reported. Among the injured were several Atlanta travelers en route to Columbus. Bradley of Buena Vista sustained four broken ribs.
