DALTON August 1. Robert Cudd a Villanow merchant farmer 15 miles west of the city was fatally wounded when a shoe last thrown by his son James Cudd struck him in the head causing a fractured skull. The boy reportedly aided his younger brother during a beating prompting the fatal act.
The Interstate Commerce Commission suspended new tariffs of the Southern Railway today, delaying a 28 cent per long ton increase on crude clay rate in carloads from Columbia Shuler Selvern Steedman Rayffin Warrenville Aiken Croft Langley Bath S C Hepzibah Gibson Ga to New York and interior Eastern points until December 1.
