In a chaotic incident on Jonéabero road a mob clashed with county police. Officer Jim Heard and fellow officers Tana, Buran Gaon and Jowan were injured by buckshot while a citizen, Fenest I. Smith, also suffered a gunshot wound as night fell and shots rang out.

At 1 30 this morning two militia companies camped near Brownsville with the Governor's Horse Guard under Sergeant George patrolling the area. Columbus, Ga September 24 Special In order to be independent of negro washerwomen, able laundry is to be established in Phenix City Alabama that will take in washing for families at special fairs The washerwomen of that city have practically engenteed and patrons who complain of missing garments or who hold up their pay until missing warrants are returned are boycotted.
A group of leading conservative African American leaders and other prominent citizens will gather in Atlanta City Council Chamber at 11 o clock to seek immediate remedies for unrest. The meeting is called by Mayor Woodward, Mayor-Elect Joyner, Captain James Wangush, and Colonel Clifford L. Anderson.
