In Macon on September 18 a 35 year old mother Ida Lucas was shot and killed at 10 PM after her estranged husband Bunny Lucas a railroad man confronted her at home. Neighbors heard a man say I am tired of this trouble before a pistol shot rang out. The couple had been separated for two months and the husband had attempted to reconcile, but she refused. Their daughter Tada Lucas witnessed the events and described the husband returning to the house after learning she was alone. Lucas was employed by a local railroad.
