Engineers Refuse to Join Cotton Belt Strike
In St. Louis on September 14 engineers of the St. Louis Southwestern Cotton Belt Railway said they would not participate in a strike over the discharge of a conductor. A representative announced that less than three fourths of the engineers had voted for a strike after a conference with conductors firemen and other employees. A meeting with trainmen and officials was scheduled for today and to be held tomorrow.
