New York September 8 Germany has sufficient cotton for military use to last two years according to William Bo Walker of New York who arrived on the Holland American liner Ryndam. Walker has been in Biden for nine years representing an American cotton firm. He noted a substitute made from wood pulp cellulose is now widely used in textiles.
Senator Hoke Smith said he received a Berlin cablegram about a plan by Baumanwalt Import Gesellschaft to export one million bales of American cotton at 15 cents a pound for dull purposes in Germany.
