Auto Smashed by Fast Train Near Reading
An auto carrying William J. Graut and wife of Temple and Dr and Mrs Samuel E Schlegel of this city was struck by a fast Pennsylvania railroad train at Douglassville. Graut and his wife and Mrs Schlegel died. Dr Schlegel survived with both legs broken as the gasoline tank exploded and the wreckage caught fire. Bodies were removed promptly to prevent cremation.
