William Strait, relative of ex congressman Strait, was arrested in York county for attempted poisoning of his mother in law Mrs Molle Kidd and others over property. Southern gets a new line lease of Atlantic and Danville

Richmond Va August 31 The Atlantic and Danville railway has been leased by the Southern railway and will be operated by that company for 99 years with renewal privilege. At a stockholders meeting in Richmond the lease was confirmed with a large majority represented, Fairfax Harrison presiding. No other business was transacted.
