A severe hailstorm grips Atlanta causing window shatters and tangled traffic. Trolley service stalls, wires break, and doors slam as stones rain down on Peach Tree Street, Marietta, and North Avenue. Runaway horses as storm triggers panic across city

A severe storm sent horses, mules and cows into a wild panic citywide. Runaway teams crashed into buildings on Forest Woodward and Peachtree streets, several animals killed or injured, and a cow at 282 Cameron Street roamed before chaos ended. Police assisted as wrecked windows and blocked streets created hazards.

Car Line to Marietta Put Out of Commission

A Thursday storm disabled the Atlanta Northern Company trolley line between Atlanta and Marietta during rush hour. Four cars were affected, with Bee car stranded near the city limits. Passengers were able to board outgoing trains. repairs were underway and service hoped to resume before midnight.

Ed Cowan Tries Suicide After Domestic Troubles

Ed Cowan, president and general manager of the Commercial Discount Company, attempted suicide at his North Boulevard home by swallowing carbolic acid and drawing a pistol. A neighbor and Officer Cooper stopped him. broker Robert E Howard aided. Cowan faced police court for drunkenness earlier, warned by Recorder Broyles that a repeat would bring stockade time. He was taken to police headquarters in hysteria.

Tragic Family Murder and Suicide in North Carolina

In Charlotte North Carolina on October 14 a wealthy farmer, Coroner says, was shot by his son after a struggle at Open View farm Ganton county. Earlier a separate incident near Bethpage church in Lincolnton involved a man named Wise who killed his father in law with an ax then killed himself after setting fire to furniture.
