Georgian thanked for his suggestion for reserve army
Macon Georgia October 12 Special Harry W Freeman a young cotton dealer of Macon may be responsible for the formation of a reserve army by the United States to be called on in time of war for national defense. The suggestion was made by Mr Presman in a letter to President Wilson who referred the matter to the war department. Major G Crawford secretary of the war college division has thanked Mr Presman and said the matter will be given full consideration. Freeman proposes a law requiring every male American upon reaching 20 years to serve in the state militia with drills rifle practice and encampments. He says this would create a pool of trained men ready to mobilize and defend the country when needed. He also urged a regular army of 300000 men.
