Man Kills Brother in Law and Wounds Other Over Children
Jim Key of DeKalb County shot and killed W. R. Strickland and seriously wounded Bass Strickland in front of Key's Decatur home after a dispute over Key's wife and children. Bass Strickland said Key had abused his sister and that a peace warrant had been sought but dismissed. Key, 33, was jailed in Decatur. Bass Strickland, 34, was wounded in the legs and groin. W. R. Strickland, 42, was killed instantly when a second barrel discharged. Mrs Key and her year-and-a-half-old child escaped to her mother's home.

College Day opens Georgia Harvest Festival with parade and tech game

Despondent mother saved at pond near Exposition Mills
Mrs Dollie McCann once Miss Dollie Martin of Laurel Mississippi sought death for herself and her year old baby by leaping into the pond near the Exposition Cotton mills. A mill worker, M Sherman, saved them from drowning after she plead health and poverty had broken her. The case came up in police court as she explained being deserted by her husband and left penniless in Atlanta.

Theatergoers See Auto Turn Turtle in Forsyth Street Crash
Lachlan Taylor of Canton Ga vice president and general manager of American Mica suffered severe injuries when his car turned turtle near Forsyth Street and Carnegie Way. The wreck occurred as theatergoers watched the Forsyth theater opening. Police and bystanders aided. Taylor was taken to a hospital with a badly splintered jaw and facial cuts.
