Bowing Green Missouri October 5 For the second time Mrs W B Hawkins wife of Pike county sheriff saved a negro prisoner named Harrison Rose from a mob that invaded the jail at 1 am parleying with the crowd while the sheriff formed a citizen posse of about fifty. The mob fled when the posse arrived. Rose is charged with stabbing a farmer to death. Detectives found cards at the home and state they raided a Houston Street residence months earlier. Bonds were set and some men were held for investigation.
