Explosion destroys Peachtree street building in Atlanta
An explosion at 7 o'clock last night wrecked a two story brick structure on Peachtree street behind Dr. W. S. Elkin’s residence and near Charles H. Smith’s home. A bulldog inside was the only fatality. Property loss estimated at 1500 dollars with no insurance. Firemen extinguished the blaze as neighbors watched. Two black assistants, Rucker and Hicks, escaped unharmed. The cause remains unknown with no gas or gasoline in the building.
