Two professional and amateur riders Arthur Chappelle and Johnnie Constance avoided a collision Sunday near Heswell while training for Christmas day events in Savannah. On a long hill they met a speeding auto, then another car appeared as they passed the first. They swung off the road into an open field, jumped a 150 foot stretch of rough ground, but both bikes and riders were unhurt and the machines remained undamaged.

Banks County Not in Bankrupt State, Citizens Assert
Homer Ga November 23 Special A statement that Banks county is bankrupt is disputed by residents who say the county is prosperous. The county maintains convict labor, has strong bridges and roads, produced over 12 000 bales of cotton and ample grain and forage. A large claim reduced debt from 28000 to 19000 and the tax levy last year was 22000 with assets. Officials expect to clear debt and have money in the treasury by 1915.
