World Court issue not expected soon
Senator Swanson of Virginia, ranking Democrat on the foreign relations committee, said no action is expected during the short session of Congress on world court proposals. He added that action in the next Congress would require stronger leadership from President Coolidge and Secretary Hughes. He noted passing either Pepper or Harding Coolidge proposals would need a two thirds vote, unlikely with a large GOP opposition unless views shift after the elections.
