President Wilson Exposed on Broadway by Vigilant Discoverer
New York, November 14. President Wilson could not hide his identity in public as he walked with Colonel House. A passerby shouted his name, crowds followed, and Secret Service guarded him through a Salvation Army meeting and a Gugliarfisti gathering. He later reached the Waldorf Astoria, then rode to Colonel House’s home, planning golf and a drive for the day. Roosevelt noted Wilson’s proximity but they did not meet.

Cotton laden steamer passes through Panama Canal
The Penrith Castle sailing from Galveston to Yokohama carried 3270 bales of cotton and exited into the Pacific. Canal officials say the route saved 22 days and about 5060 dollars on the outward voyage, with over 4000 dollars in tolls paid, and note the overall savings support future Panama Canal use for cotton shipments to Japan.
