Special Meeting at KR BR Young Men Start Torch of Faith

A church gathering is announced led by Junius W. Millard at Ponce de Leon Avenue Baptist Church. Dr Millard and Evangelist Lance will conduct services for railroad workers and the general public, with a packed program of sermons and musical performances through Friday.

Demise of Mrs Martha Duncan in Eighty Second Year

Mrs Martha Duncan of Douglasville Georgia died of pneumonia last evening at her son R J Duncan’s home 290 Central avenue Atlanta aged 82. Husband died two months earlier. She had visited Atlanta to see family and grew ill several days ago. Remains to be sent to Douglasville for interment this morning at 10 o clock. W S Duncan a wholesale merchant and son and L Duncan preceded her in Georgia society.

Morphine Hazard In Barber Shop Ends With Near-Fatal Spasm

Roscoe Waite, a recently discharged soldier, collapsed in a barber shop on Denavir Street after a spasm believed caused by morphine. Bystander J A Carrawar left to fetch a doctor as officers summoned an ambulance. Waite was taken to Grady hospital, where doctors treated him as under morphine influence and prepared for possible surgery. Edna Wallace Hopper, NY actress, rumored to suffer from an ailment, appeared at her apartment as reports of her health circulated.
