Riot at Savannah polls erupts in deadly clash

Reports from Savannah describe a riot at the Court House polls where colored demonstrators blocked entrances, police engaged, several officers wounded including R. Reed mortally, and two coroner inquests held. The shooting ended with multiple arrests, a mayoral intervention, and national troops recalled to barracks as authorities pledge protection of the ballot boxes.
