Cox Denounces Primary Rule Shift in Georgia Delegates
Col Cox attacks the 1906 1908 primary changes arguing they disenfranchise counties like Floyd by underweighting their votes compared to Fulton. He urges a Joe Brown convention to undo the usurpation, denounces imperial proscriptions, and notes resolutions against the new rules were adopted in Covington and district gatherings.
Delegates Rally Against Revolutionary Primary Rule
In Rome on May 25 delegates from the seventh district attacked a plan to end county lines in state management. They argued the rule would strip Floyd and others of power while granting autocratic control to the governor and expanding one party supremacy. Supporters and opponents across Cobb, Fulton, Bartow, and Polk counties voiced fierce opposition ahead of June 4 and June 4 votes.
