Blazer’s Bold Bank Scheme Ends in Arrest and Loss
A sensational fraud tale from Monroe and Seymour recounts L. C. Blazer who Wakefielded as a mill and bank magnate, organizing The Southern Manufacturing Company Limited in Seymour and pilfering through forged drafts and fake deposits. He bought mills, wired for funds, and operated a phantom empire while leaving a trail of unpaid bills and mounting debts across several states. Local authorities linked him to a fugitive: John R. Davis, an escaped Michigan convict, as a prime suspect in the wider sham.
