Late Georgia treasurer indicted in Fulton County
The grand jury of Fulton County returned a true bill against John Jones ES the late state treasurer. The indictment alleges he withheld about 100 774 84 from the state among twenty five pages of counts. Jones was arrested near Marietta and Peachtree streets after a bench warrant issued by Judge Peeples. Bond set at 50 000 signed by Dr James Alexander and Paul Jones with others sought but not yet secured.
