Whiffs and Elliott’s Dent Fail to Hold Late Lead

Dent was not wholly blamed for Wednesday’s loss as a late misplay by Aster fumbled a grounder with two on in the seventh. Ward would have been doubled at second if first base had been touched, but the ensuing error by Aster opened the door for Butler’s triple. Dent pitched well before the miscue and showed a sharp double shoot, suggesting he could be a winner despite the rough finish. The Red and Black lauds Georgia Tech’s three wins over Georgia as a sportsmanlike note. Cavet and Elmer Brown are singled out as league prize twitters after strong, one‑hit games early in the season.
