Thirteen Jurors Chosen for Darrow Case Alternate
Los Angeles May 22. The selection of a thirteenth juror in Clarence Darrow's jury bribery trial proved the most difficult task to date. Twelve regular jurors were seated after the noon recess, with ten more examined in a fruitless bid to fill the alternate seat. Both sides used one peremptory challenge each as delays and prejudice concerns among talesmen slowed the process. Seven talesmen remained to be considered on the morrow.
