Plan to Disregard Woodward's Veto Sparks City Power Rift
General council leaders say impeachment is unnecessary as they hold two thirds to override any mayoral veto. They accuse Mayor Woodward of defying the majority and plan to pursue city improvements without his support. A charter revision consideration touches on retroactive removal of officials, while a formal opinion affirms legality of the purchasing agent amendment. The council meets to decide on next steps as Monday's bond committee report looms.
