Mrs. Marta Guffin Livingston Dies at 83
Mrs. Marta Guffin Livingston longtime widow of Congressman Lon Livingston of Georgia died yesterday morning at the Livingston home in Bethany Newton County aged eighty three. She survived by three sons and several grandchildren. Funeral was held at Bethany Church near Covington followed by burial beside her husband in the family grounds. Jonathan Livingston Jr. of Atlanta traveled to Covington for the services and burial.

Becker Accused by Press Agent in Harlem Murder Case
New York May 18 District Attorney Whitman rested his case against Charles Becker by calling star witnesses Charles B Plitt and James Marshall. Plitt, Becker’s former ally, testified Becker urged him to kill Jack Rose and sent messages to Rose before and after Rose’s arrest. Marshall described Becker as a stool pigeon and testified to the Harlem conference courts deemed essential to convict Becker of instigating the Rosenthal murder plot. The defense plans to begin its case tomorrow with Mrs Becker expected to testify.

Fled From Huerta and Ran Into Mob in Vera Cruz
Vera Cruz May 18 A mob of Mexicans called ex minister of the interior Dr Aureliano Urrutia an assassin after he fled Mexico City to escape Huerta’s wrath. He was detained by American officers, then released, as demonstrations continued outside his hotel room. Antonio Rivero de la Torre led the protest, accusing Urrutia of ordering his brother’s execution. Urrutia appeared cautious, declaring he left the capital to avoid death and predicting possible threats from Huerta. He doubted Huerta would resign and suggested the president might unleash dynamite on public buildings.
