Train Robbers Begin Sentence in Georgia Prison Case
In Macon Georgia Special Report two white men O M Chestnut and C R Jorden were sent to seven years each for robbing Express Messenger White at Richwood County. They planned alibis but the effort failed. Chestnut and Jordan were convicted and imprisoned. Jordan's mother traveled from Jacksonville to see her son. Chestnut's alleged alibi involved a roommate who testified, but Chestnut later confessed he could not prove the alibi and admitted the crime. The case reflects the unreliable nature of alibis in court.
