Reported death tolls across multiple towns include twelve at Horn Lake Mississippi twenty at Pulaski Tennessee eight at Mammoth Springs Arkansas six at Hartselle Alabama and four at Franklin Tennessee as homes and towns are swept away by the disaster.
An epidemic cyclone swept the south Thursday night leaving at least dozens dead and towns wiped out. Reports describe ruined villages from Tennessee to Arkansas with Chattanooga Knoxville and Fayetteville among affected areas as lives and property suffered heavy losses.

In Tretrott April 30 Armenian Dr G K Hoyajian shot his nephew Harotoon Garpaian in police court during a statutory charge hearing involving his wife Mrs G K Boyajian. Four shots fired. Garpaian died tonight. Hoyajian wounded his wife, then fired a final shot that struck a gas pipe. Officers and bystanders subdued him as mob violence surged through the corridor. Mrs Boyajian, shaken, learned her nephew survived. Dorasian denied improper relations. Gastanian remained unconscious at St Marys hospital as the physician faced charges.
W. T. Morris becomes operations chief with A. B. Weaver as assistant secretary to the chief in a police board reorganization. Commissioners Morris and Patterson opposed changes, citing a long tradition of chief appointing detectives. The board’s action shifts appointment power away from the chief and follows a constitutional ruling adopted yesterday morning.
Rome Georgia April 30 Special Revival services at the Thankful Baptist church ended when Rev Green Hunter was arrested for securing money under false pretenses. He allegedly induced four members to sign a note for 150 dollars, later discounted at Farmers Bank. The note remains unpaid, with banker Al Jefferson seeking repayment. Hunter claims misunderstanding and denial of charges.
The State Farmers Union adopted several resolutions including endorsing the Consolidated Warehouse Company scheme in Georgia and planning to form a similar enterprise in South Carolina. A committee led by T B Thackatan of Spartanburg will travel to Washington with Commissioner Watson to seek federal aid through the Department of Commerce and Labor for a cotton belt expert to study marketing conditions abroad. The union also urged federal action to push farm demonstration work and requested experts to improve the state’s livestock industry.
The semi annual Fidyd county singing convention meets May 6 at the Baptist church in Lindate. It opens at 10 a m Saturday with John P Davis sponsoring the event. Professor McDuffin Weemh of Nayton Virginia and Professor J B Vaughn of Athens Ga will be present to direct and participate.

Chairman Maron announced a successor to James A Watterson as secretary, with Morris elected, succeeding the retiring aide as assistant secretary.
Alexandria La April 30 The planing mill of the Lee Lumber Company one mile north of the city burned today along with a large quantity of lumber. Insurance covers most of the loss but the fire caused an estimated 90 000 dollars damage. Sparks from the slab pit are believed to have started the blaze and firemen fought the flames for hours. Local residents reported heavy smoke seen for miles.
William Withrow and his sister Miss Pearl Withrow died when their boat capsized at Lakewood during a picnic by students and teachers from T. Roberts Seminary. Miss Alfreda Juhin survived by clinging to the overturned craft as rescuers rushed to aid the trio. The tragedy occurred about 2 PM with search efforts continuing into the evening.
