New Dog Muzzle Law Faces Revision By City Alderman
Alderman Arthur H. Van Dyke says the dog muzzle ordinance is too drastic and may not survive courts. Mayor Woodward vetoed it, citing failure to meet its purpose and widespread dog ownership concerns. Van Dyke plans to work on a revised approach, consulting with Tax Committee chair McClelland to enforce pound fees and pursue state legislation to harmonize dog control laws.
