In Springfield Ohio on March 2 Mrs Maggie Wilson killed her husband Arthur Wilson by shooting him in the back during a dispute over ejecting Mrs Jessie Blair from the home on clucid avenue. Wilson an Odd Fellow and longtime Desermoux & Co. employee died within an hour. Mrs Wilson is jailed for murder and Mrs Blair is held as an accomplice. Wilson had threatened to kill her with a hatchet.
In Columbus on March 29 Fred Gorrell aged 22 from Mount Vernon attempted to kill his wife then shot himself. After firing twice at her the enraged man tried to cut his throat with a butcher knife and finally slashed his neck with a razor dying at the scene. The wife received a hip wound and a chest injury but is expected to recover.
Crown Point Indiana March 29 a farm hand Albert Knauss employed by Nicholas Hahn is accused of brutal assault on Mrs Hahn while Hahn was away. After subduing her he left her unconscious. Knauss is jailed but a lynching is rumored with strong deputy guard at the jail.
March 2 Huntington Wa report says miners drank and fought at Kick Horn causing two deaths. James Davia died trying to restore order and Lizzie Grady was slain by N E Fortner, who is at large while Fortner shot her as she rested in a restaurant. Crittenden divorce case in St Louis shows Henry Houston Crittenden granted divorce from Daisy Crittenden for desertion. both linked to prominent families.
A Louisiana parish nears a state of war as white men threaten a Black resident over voting, an apology to white leaders is demanded, and gunfire kills Julien Stelly and Alice Boutte with a white man later found dead nearby. Reports cite Dr G W Martin as a leading figure in the white supremacy movement and note additional killings tied to arming in the parish.
Four killed and two injured in a Hudson Street fire that gutted a three story building housing four families. Margaret Ryan died after leaping from a window. Kate Higgins broke her leg. Fireman Archibald Grogan perished. Mary McMahon and Thomas Mallory also died from smoke. Damage about $10 000.

In Echo forty miles west of Hinton, a spring rain loosens a rock mass that slides down the mountain, tearing up bake ovens and tracks before crashing into a dwelling. Three people are killed instantly, including Jim Tillman Frank Tillman and Lucy Saw, with two others seriously injured.
