Nascoinle March 25 A bright mulatto named John Pree Brown a postal distributor was arrested by Deputy U.S. Marshals on charges of stealing letters from the post office. Letters found on Brown were not addressed to him including items for Mantel & Co Mexican lottery firm. He resigns his position to Postmaster Wills as investigation continues. Brown had a habit of leaving to drink and the evidence includes letters and notes tied to theft.
