In forming a syndicate to carry the 240 mile extension to the Atlantic and Birmingham Railway from Montezuma Georgia to Birmingham a Frisco director denied reports that Frisco interests led by B F Yoakum controlled the road A banker said Yoakum shared underwriting with T Jefferson Coolidge Jr who reportedly took one third of three million in underwriting The Frisco bought the Birmingham Belt Railway two years ago to provide a friendly outlet to the Atlantic for the Rock Island system If Yoakum chairs the project it would connect the Rock Island to the Atlantic seaboard and echo a Rock Island goal once to dip into the Atlantic.
